EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

• Makes_ rounds of buildings, parking lots, and grounds
• Checks into and reports all unusual activity in area
• Contacts administrative staff or Police Department in an emergency
• Checks and secures doors, windows and gates
• Answers the telephone
• Checks for and reports fires
• Turns on security lights
• Checks all persons entering or leaving area of patrol
• May carry a gun. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Must have a higt, school diploma or CED from on accredited institution. KN.OWLEDOE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Knowledge of firearms and safety procedures
• Able to qualify as a sworn officer
• Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions
• Able to deal courteously and effectively with others in complex and controversial situations. WORKING CONDITIONS and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Works inside and outside in all kinds of weather
• Requires extensive walking, standing, and driving LICENSE AND CERTIFICATES: Must have a valid Louisiana drivers license./
