Public Area Attendant

Position Summary Responsible for maintaining clean, sanitary, safe, and well-presented public areas throughout the Hotel, including the lobby, public restrooms, hallways, elevators, pool area, meeting rooms, business center, fitness center, break rooms, offices, and hotel entrance. Provides courteous guest service and supports housekeeping operations as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Comply with applicable laws, requirements, Company policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable regulations. 2. Provide professional guest service by listening and responding appropriately to guest and team member questions and concerns. 3. Maintain assigned public areas in accordance with hotel cleanliness, sanitation, appearance, and service standards. 4. Frequently clean, disinfect, and sanitize high-touch surfaces and public areas, including elevator lobbies, doors, restrooms, break rooms, offices, fitness center, business center, pool area, and front entrance. 5. Follow established procedures and manufacturer instructions for the safe use, handling, storage, and disposal of cleaning chemicals. 6. Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, pictures, shelves, doors, and other surfaces, including areas requiring reaching, bending, stooping, and repetitive movement. 7. Clean and polish metal surfaces using appropriate methods and equipment. 8. Maintain elevators, hallways, entrances, and other high-traffic areas in a clean and debris-free condition. 9. Monitor assigned areas and promptly report maintenance issues, safety hazards, damage, or other concerns to the appropriate supervisor. 10. Assist Room Attendants and Laundry Attendants with Housekeeping duties as needed. 11. Assist with departmental training and maintain knowledge of required cleaning and safety procedures. 12. Demonstrate attention to detail and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and presentation. 13. Protect confidential information and Hotel property entrusted to the position. 14. Demonstrate and promote KLEH core values and skills. 15. Attend and satisfactorily complete all required training. 16. Maintain professional appearance, conduct, and guest service standards at all times. 17. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Basic knowledge of housekeeping, sanitation, cleaning methods, and appropriate use of cleaning chemicals. Ability to follow cleaning procedures, safety instructions, and established standards. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent cleanliness standards. Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong guest service, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with guests, team members, and leadership. Ability to remain professional and composed when handling difficult situations. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Spanish or other language skills are a plus. SUPERVISION EXERCISED This position has no regular supervisory responsibilities. May assist with training and orientation of housekeeping team members as assigned.
