We are currently seeking:
A Public Safety Officer to join our team. In this role, you will perform civilian, non-sworn public safety functions supporting law enforcement operations by responding to designated non-enforcement calls, providing traffic and scene support, operating public safety technology, completing reports and documentation, and assisting sworn personnel to improve operational efficiency and community service.
Job Responsibilities:
- Respond to designated low-priority calls for service, including non-injury crashes, delayed reports, and informational calls.
- Provide traffic control, scene security, and operational support during incidents, special events, and emergencies.
- Operate department technology platforms, including Drone as First Responder (DFR) systems, camera systems, and other public safety technologies.
- Prepare reports, collect data, document incidents, and maintain accurate records.
- Provide logistical support to patrol, investigations, and other divisions.
- Assist with emergency response and special assignments under the direction of sworn personnel.
- Maintain professional, service-oriented interactions with the public.
- Perform duties within the scope of a non-sworn position; no arrests or criminal investigations.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree or higher in criminal justice, emergency management, public administration, or a related field preferred.
Experience and Background:
Public safety, military, security, customer service, emergency response, or technology experience preferred. FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, or ability to obtain, preferred.
