Description
A leading Japanese food manufacturer is looking for a Purchasing Administrator to join their team.
Main Responsibilities
- Coordinated procurement of ingredients, packaging, and supplies for their production.
- Created, processed, and tracked purchase orders for the ingredients, and packaging materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production planners to determine timely purchasing needs.
- Ensured on‑time delivery of all materials to meet production schedules.
- Communicated with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and order status.
- Assisted in evaluating suppliers based on cost, quality, reliability, and performance.
- Resolved order discrepancies, delivery delays, and material quality issues.
- Maintained accurate purchasing records, pricing lists, contracts, and vendor information.
- Updated ERP/inventory systems with purchase orders, receipts, and delivery confirmations.
- Prepared reports on purchasing activity, cost trends, and material usage.
- Partnered with Production, QA, Finance, and Warehouse teams to support cross‑department operations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- 2–5 years of experience in purchasing, inventory, or administrative support (food manufacturing preferred).
- Strong understanding of procurement workflows and inventory systems.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Detail‑oriented with strong data entry and record‑keeping accuracy.
- Skilled in vendor communication and relationship management.
- Basic knowledge of Japanese food manufacturing processes is preferred.
- Ability to analyze pricing and cost data; team‑oriented mindset.
- Strong English communication skills are required. Japanese language ability is a plus, but not required.

Location: Irvine, California (On-site Only)
Work Hours: Mon to Fri, 8:30am to 5:30pm (1 hour lunch break)
Salary: $52,000~66,000 annually, depending on experience
