Position Summary

The Purchasing Agent supports daily Purchasing Department operations by issuing purchase orders, monitoring purchase order status and delivery, communicating with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and maintaining complete purchasing records.

Purchasing Agent - Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Issue purchase orders for assigned shop buyouts and product categories.
• Expedite orders to support timely delivery and obtain proof of delivery.
• Communicate purchase order status with Project Managers and Shop Personnel
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Run various reports in Tekla
• Maintain accurate virtual and hard copy files of purchase orders, purchase order requisitions, material receiving reports, and test reports
• Various clerical duties as assigned.
• The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.

Purchasing Agent - Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with one year experience in purchasing experience preferred.
• Must have excellent organizational skills.

Purchasing Agent - Physical Demands

Requires frequent bending, stooping and lifting. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and work directly on a computer. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally. All of the physical demands listed are essential functions.
