Purchasing Agent

Our client, a well-established local construction contractor in the Wilmington area, is seeking a Purchasing Agent to handle materials and equipment buying for active projects. This is a direct hire opportunity offering long-term growth with a respected firm.

Responsibilities include:

• Sourcing and purchasing materials, tools, and equipment for construction projects
• Preparing and processing purchase orders and tracking deliveries
• Building relationships with vendors and negotiating pricing and terms
• Coordinating with project managers and field teams on material needs and schedules
• Monitoring inventory levels and resolving delivery or pricing issues
• Maintaining accurate purchasing records and documentation

The ideal candidate will have:

• Purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in construction or a related industry
• Strong negotiation, organizational, and follow-up skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and purchasing or inventory systems
• Professional communication skills and attention to detail
• The ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines
