Job Description
CBIZ Talent Solutions is seeking a Purchasing Lead for a growing middle-market distribution organization in Melville, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior purchasing professional ready to take the next step into leadership. The role will serve as the bridge between the purchasing team and senior leadership, overseeing daily workflow, mentoring team members, and supporting purchasing operations in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of purchasing professionals.
- Issue and manage purchase orders, monitor vendor performance, and ensure timely delivery of customer project materials.
- Partner with project management, warehouse, logistics, and accounting teams to meet timelines and resolve purchasing-related issues.
- Assist in developing and improving purchasing procedures, workflows, and best practices.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to enhance service levels, quality, and cost savings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality, or a related field.
- 7+ years of purchasing experience and 3+ years of leadership or management experience.
- Experience supervising, coaching, or developing purchasing or buyer teams a huge plus.
- Knowledge of equipment or appliances preferred.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and vendor management skills.
Additional Information
- Onsite position in Melville, NY
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Salary range: $85,000 - $95,000 plus potential year-end bonus
