Job Summary:The Purchasing Manager is responsible for developing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply needs, and overseeing the purchasing team in their daily activities.Job Duties:

• Monitor, Develop and implement purchasing strategies, ensuring that materials are delivered on time and on hand for production while minimizing inventory.
• Manage daily purchasing activities, supervising and supporting staff, issue purchase orders, and allocating tasks as needed.
• Coordinate with Planning team members to determine and manage inventory needs.
• Engage with suppliers on contract reviews for annual or quarterly RM usage.
• Maintain the supplier contacts, purchase records, and all required documentation.
• Assist Quality / Regulatory with required documents in TraceGains for suppliers and RM.
• Ensure that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.
• Work to improve purchasing systems and processes.
• Train new employees in the purchasing process and how to use the purchasing system.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Personal Characteristics:

• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 
• Detailed analytical abilities.
• Ability to work in cross functional teams.

Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• A minimum of five (5) years similar work experience in purchasing and team management.   
• Or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work in a facility that handles allergens including but not limited to: wheat, soy, egg, milk, celery and mustard.
• Able to withstand sitting in an office environment for long periods of time/
