About the Role
The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, components, and services necessary to support manufacturing operations. This role ensures cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards, timely delivery, and supplier performance. The ideal candidate has at least four years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment and demonstrates strong analytical, negotiation, and vendor management skills.
What You'll Do
- Source and procure raw materials, components, and services in alignment with production schedules and inventory requirements
- Evaluate supplier performance based on cost, quality, delivery, and reliability
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with vendors to achieve cost savings and favorable agreements
- Issue purchase orders and monitor order status to ensure on-time delivery
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and inventory teams to forecast material needs
- Maintain accurate procurement records, pricing data, and supplier documentation
- Resolve issues related to supplier performance, delivery delays, or quality concerns
- Analyze market trends and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Support audits and maintain documentation in accordance with internal controls
Additional Expectations
- Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
- Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
- Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
- Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Minimum of 3 years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, inventory management, and sourcing strategies
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Understanding of contract terms, pricing structures, and cost analysis
