Purchasing & Strategic Sourcing Manager

NextStep Recruiting has partnered with an established industrial distribution organization to identify a Purchasing & Strategic Sourcing Manager in Farmers Branch, TX. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity working Monday–Friday, 7 AM–4 PM, with compensation ranging from $100K–$135K. This role will oversee purchasing operations, supplier relationships, inventory replenishment, and strategic sourcing initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on purchasing leader with strong negotiation skills, experience managing large SKU portfolios, and the ability to use data to improve supplier performance, product availability, and inventory investment.

Required:

• 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or strategic sourcing experience
• Previous experience leading, coaching, and developing a purchasing or buying team
• Experience managing large SKU portfolios, inventory replenishment, and supplier relationships
• Proven success negotiating supplier pricing, payment terms, lead times, and service agreements
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookup functions, along with ERP/inventory management experience

Preferred:

• Wholesale, industrial distribution, or similar high-volume inventory experience
• Experience managing 20,000+ SKUs
• Experience with distribution ERP systems such as Epicor Prophet 21
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field
• Professional purchasing, supply chain, or procurement certification
