QA Analyst

This is an onsite role; only local candidates will be considered.

The QA Analyst will support the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). This role is responsible for developing, executing, and managing functional and user acceptance testing activities for newly developed products and enhancements to existing products. The QA Analyst will use TxDOT templates and Generative AI prompting techniques to accelerate the creation of comprehensive testing documentation. The position serves as the testing point of contact for development teams and third-party vendors, coordinating test activities, managing the defect lifecycle, and facilitating defect triage. The role also prepares structured test matrices from business requirements to support automation teams.

Responsibilities

• Use TxDOT templates and Generative AI prompting techniques to create comprehensive testing documentation, including Test Plans, Test Cases, and Test Summary Memos.
  
• Execute Test Plans and Test Cases through all phases of the testing process.
  
• Manage, track, and map test case execution to requirements using UiPath Test Manager, Xray, or other test management tools.
  
• Manage the defect management process, including defect identification, resolution, and tracking, and work with vendors to ensure timely defect resolution.
  
• Serve as the testing point of contact for development teams and third-party vendors to coordinate testing activities across projects.
  
• Provide functional test support for newly developed products and new features of existing products.
  
• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) efforts, utilizing TxDOT division staff for test execution.
  
• Use AI-powered test case generation workflows to analyze complex business requirement documents (PRDs) and decompose them into logical test matrices for automation teams.
  
• Attend daily status meetings and provide accurate updates on items under test, associated defects, and blockers.
  
• Facilitate weekly defect triage meetings, including monitoring, entering, reviewing, and replicating UAT defects and communicating them to the development team.
  

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications - Candidates must meet all minimum qualifications

• 5 years of manual testing experience (e.g., System Testing, System Integration Testing, UAT).
  
• 5 years of experience writing test plans, test cases, and other testing-related documentation.
  
• 5 years of experience facilitating and coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users.
  
• 5 years of experience using Jira or other defect management tools (e.g., Octane).
  
• 5 years of experience using Xray, Zephyr, TestRail, or other standard test management software.
  
• 2 years of experience using UiPath Test Suite/Test Manager to design, link, and track functional test cases earmarked for automated execution.
  
• 1 year of hands-on experience using Generative AI tools (e.g., LLMs, ChatGPT, Claude) to accelerate test script design, scenario generation, and QA documentation workflows.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of experience mapping business processes or technical requirements into structured automated workflow requirements in UiPath Orchestrator.
  
• 2 years of experience working alongside mid-level automation engineers to hand off analyst-generated test flows for code-driven execution.

• Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the Austin, Texas work location.
