QA Controls Technician
Radwell International LLC | Quality Assurance
Full-Time | Hourly | On-site
Schedule: Monday–Friday – 10:00am to 7:00pm

The QA Controls Technician is responsible for inspecting, testing, cleaning, documenting, and verifying industrial automation equipment prior to sale. This role ensures products meet Radwell quality standards by performing functional testing, validating product condition, and confirming readiness for sale or inventory placement.

The ideal candidate has strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working with PLCs, industrial controls, drives, HMIs, and related automation equipment.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Verify part numbers, specifications, and product configurations on all assigned units

• Inspect, clean, test, and evaluate industrial automation and control equipment

• Utilize test fixtures, diagnostic equipment, and quality assurance tools to verify product functionality

• Perform power-up, operational, and diagnostic testing on PLCs, drives, HMIs, industrial controls, and related equipment

• Program units and verify communication parameters when required

• Document test results, inspection findings, and product status within company systems

• Follow established quality assurance methods, processes, and procedures

• Support continuous improvement efforts related to quality, testing, and product readiness

• Process pre-evaluation units to Ready-To-Sell (RTS) standards

• Ensure proper handling, identification, labeling, and storage of tested units

• Capture and document repair recommendations, estimated parts requirements, and labor information when applicable

• Manage workload effectively while maintaining quality and productivity standards

• Support customer backlog requirements by working on products across multiple departments as needed

• Perform occasional light repair and troubleshooting activities

• Perform other duties, tasks, or work as assigned

 

Quality & Performance Metrics

• Performance tracked through established Quality Assurance productivity standards

• Maintain department productivity and throughput expectations

• Meet unit completion goals established by department leadership

• Maintain quality and warranty performance standards in accordance with company requirements

• Achieve accuracy and consistency in testing, documentation, and product evaluations

 

Qualifications

• Ability to troubleshoot industrial electronic equipment and control systems

• Ability to perform component-level diagnostics and basic soldering when required

• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and electronic test equipment

• Strong technical aptitude and attention to detail

 

Knowledge & Skills Required

• Strong computer proficiency

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Strong attention to detail

• Effective problem-solving abilities

• Good communication skills

• PLC and industrial controls testing experience preferred

• Familiarity with electrical schematics and technical documentation preferred

 

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

• One to three years of technical school training or equivalent experience preferred

• Experience with industrial controls, PLCs, automation products, electronics, or related technical equipment preferred

• Technical or industrial product knowledge is a plus

 

Physical Demands

• Occasional sitting, reaching, working overhead, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling

• Frequent walking

• Continuous standing and repetitive hand motion

• Frequent lifting up to 25 pounds and continuous lifting up to 10 pounds

 

Compensation & Commission

The recruiting base pay scale for this full-time position is $17.00–$21.00 per hour.

Within the base pay range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

This position is eligible for a commission program following successful completion of the introductory 90-day period.
