QA Laboratory Technician I

This role provides additional QC/lab support for the team at the Commerce Milk Plant. Schedule: 5:00 AM-1:30 PM (Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday; off Monday and Tuesday), with flexibility for schedule changes and overtime required. Candidate must be eligible for indefinite-duration employment without limitations. Not eligible for extension or conversion to full-time. Candidate will interview onsite with hiring manager.

• Sample, test, plate, read, and record product test results
• Ensure daily records are kept and maintained
• Perform data entry and tracking
• Follow QC Hold Procedures for out-of-specification products
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Assist in maintaining a 5-S rating of \"A\"
• Perform equipment calibration and troubleshooting
• Participate in driving continuous improvement
• Meet daily with supervisor to cover production-related issues
• Evaluate trends from test results, develop correction plans, and communicate to employees/management
• Implement quality control processes/testing to meet Safeway quality standards and ensure product specifications are met
• Utilize laboratory supplies/items relating to plant sanitation/safety
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Minimum 2 years in a similar role (if substituting for degree)
