The Quality Control Coordinator - Raw Materials is responsible for supporting the Quality Control department by ensuring all incoming raw materials and extension materials are properly received, documented, tested, tracked, and released for manufacturing. This role maintains accurate quality documentation, coordinates laboratory submissions, manages retained samples, and supports regulatory compliance in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company quality standards. The position plays a critical role in ensuring only approved materials are used in production, supporting iLABS' commitment to manufacturing safe, high-quality skincare products.
Hourly Rate: $25/hr
Responsibilities:
- Receive Certificates of Analysis (COAs) from the warehouse and complete all required receiving documentation.
- Remove labels, verify and mark material weights, and assign storage locations when applicable.
- Receive, review, and file microbiological test results with corresponding raw material COAs.
- Review and release raw materials for production use following established quality procedures.
- Review and release extension materials.
- Print, prepare, and complete COAs for extension documentation.
- Request extension forms and supporting documentation from the warehouse as needed.
- Prepare and complete submission forms for in-house laboratory testing.
- Prepare and submit documentation for testing performed by external laboratories.
- Maintain and organize retained samples in both standard and hazardous storage areas.
- Maintain retained sample inventory using Excel, ensuring accurate tracking and inventory control.
- Perform FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy) testing on raw materials according to established procedures.
- Organize FTIR test results and attach them to corresponding raw material COAs.
- Coordinate requests for new raw material standards with the Research & Development department.
- Maintain raw material classification records, labeling systems, and inventory logs using Excel and physical filing systems.
- Manage daily correspondence related to quality activities and distribute emails to the appropriate departments.
- Provide cross-functional support and PTO coverage for various departments as assigned.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready office and work area.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
