A day in this role
You begin on the production floor, calipers in hand, confirming a lot of silicone-coated substrates meets dimensional and coat weight targets. A call from Operations comes in—there’s a question about adhesion. You head to the lab, set up peel and release tests, and document results in the ERP while updating the lot’s Certificate of Analysis. By mid-morning, you’re reviewing work orders and customer specifications, catching a mismatched tolerance before it reaches final packaging. In the afternoon, you join the Quality Director and production leads to discuss a nonconformance, contribute to the root cause analysis, and outline a corrective action. Before shift end, you calibrate a gauge, file audit-ready records for ISO 9001:2015, and clear a finished-goods shipment—on spec and on time.
