Quality Control Manager - Federal Construction

Are you the person who catches the problem before it gets built in? A growing federal general contractor delivering military and government facilities in Central Texas is hiring a Quality Control Manager for its Killeen-area work. You'll own the quality program on site, keep the paperwork airtight and partner with the project team and government representatives to deliver buildings that meet every requirement on day one.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain the project Quality Control Plan and keep it current as the work progresses
• Manage the submittal process, reviewing shop drawings, product data and samples for compliance with the contract documents
• Run the three-phase inspection process, from preparatory meetings through initial and follow-up inspections
• Write accurate daily QC reports and keep the deficiency log moving toward closure
• Coordinate testing labs, special inspections and commissioning activities with subcontractors and the field team
• Keep RMS/QCS up to date and pull together complete closeout documentation and turnover packages
• Lead by example on quality and safety, and stop work when something isn't right

What You Bring

• Experience as a quality control manager or QC lead on federal, military or government construction projects
• Current USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management for Contractors certification, or the ability to obtain it quickly
• Hands-on knowledge of the three-phase control system, RMS/QCS and EM 385-1-1
• Solid understanding of building systems, specifications and construction drawings
• Strong organization and communication skills, plus confidence working with subcontractors and government inspectors
