Description

JOB TITLE: Quality Engineer, Prototyping
LOCATION: Foster City, CA (Onsite)
PAY RANGE: $65 - $75/hr.
DURATION: 6 Months

TOP 3 SKILLS:
  • 4 6 years of experience in Quality and/or Manufacturing Engineering environments.
  • Experience with Quality Management standard practices, including APQP methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T

Overview:
The Quality Engineer in the Prototyping division of the company, known as XOPS, will ensure that all processes involved in the design, manufacturing, assembly, and inspection of parts adhere to high-quality standards. You will be assigned to the XOPS Quality Department and, as part of your daily responsibilities, will interact with various functional groups within XOPS, including Design Engineers, Fabrication, CNC, Additive Manufacturing, Harness, Assembly Technicians, and the Metrology Group.

Responsibilities:
  • Review Jira tickets for accurate data quality.
  • Create balloon drawings and inspection report templates for inspection.
  • Review inspection documents and follow the approval process.
  • Follow the nonconformance process if issues are identified.
  • Maintain dashboards and provide weekly progress reports for the inspection team.

Qualifications:
  • BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4 6 years of experience in quality and/or manufacturing.
  • Experience with Quality Management standard practices (APQP is a plus).
  • Knowledge of GD&T.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Bonus Qualifications:
  • Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience.
  • Process Improvement certification (Lean Six Sigma / Shainin).
  • Knowledge of CMM programming, IPC 620, and ESD best practices.
