As an internco-op with Cleveland-Cliffs you will build life-long professional connections and have the opportunity to be considered for future full-time employment.As a Quality Engineering Intern at Cleveland-Cliffs the projects assigned will vary based on the interns education level and plant location but will generally reflect the duties outlined below.Summary of Responsibilities Complete monthly safety inspections and safety observations for the Metallurgical Department.Work safely and assure plant safety policies are followed.Manage workflow in the mechanical and chemical test lab.Manage test equipment calibrations.Create new operating efficiencies to maintain the production testing and shipping of steel with a leaner workforce.Maintain Steelmaking spectrometer lab calibration and on-call support.Responsible for data-mining investigations with metallurgical grade performance chemistry scrap charges etc.Responsible for Metallurgical grade maintenance and development.Manage 3rd party testing inspection.Maintain tracking of Steelmaking scrap referral and diversions.Responsible for Metallurgical investigations.Minimum QualificationsEnrollment in Bachelor of Science program in the field of Materials Science Metallurgy Chemistry or other related technical degreeCompletion of at least sophomore year of study by the summer of 2027Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.Cleveland-Cliffs is a leading North America-based steel producer with focus on value-added sheet products particularly for the automotive industry.
