Fabrication Quality Inspector

MJ Celco is a growing metal stamping and fabrication manufacturer serving customers in a variety of industries. We are seeking a detail-oriented Fabrication Quality Inspector to join our team and help ensure our products meet customer specifications, engineering requirements, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform first piece, in-process, and final inspections of fabricated parts and assemblies
- Verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and customer requirements
- Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections
- Use precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, thread gauges, optical comparators, and QC laser equipment
- Inspect sheet metal components, laser-cut parts, turret-punched parts, assemblies, and finished products
- Complete inspection reports, quality records, and traceability documentation
- Review material certifications, certificates of conformity, and supplier documentation
- Identify and document nonconforming materials and products
- Support containment and corrective action activities
- Verify calibration status of inspection equipment before use
- Assist with gauge control and calibration activities
- Follow ISO 9001 requirements and established quality procedures
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong background in visual inspection of stamped and assembled parts
- 2–5 years of quality inspection experience in fabrication, sheet metal, laser-cut, turret-punched, or assembly environments
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Experience using precision measuring equipment
- Knowledge of inspection methods and sampling techniques
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements and priorities
Preferred
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or similar certification
- Experience working within an ISO 9001:2015 quality system
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform detailed visual inspections
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment while wearing required PPE
