Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Specialist / Technician to support body weld quality confirmation, tooling, and equipment preparation for new model launches.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment & Tooling Confirmation: Confirm body weld equipment, tools, pallets, parts, and assemblies to meet quality targets for new model launches.
- Vendor & Facility Support: Prepare, troubleshoot, and confirm new tooling, equipment, parts, and sub-assemblies at vendor and facility locations.
- Quality & Handover: Support weld and tooling quality confirmation from installation through handover.
- Measurement & Inspection: Perform equipment, tooling, and part confirmation using portable CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) and related measurement systems.
- Fitting & Assembly: Support fitting, measurement, and confirmation activities for weld tooling and parts.
- Dimensional Analysis: Analyze part and sub-assembly dimensional data and provide actionable feedback to leadership.
- Documentation & Reporting: Create daily work plans, project task reports, and problem follow sheets.
- Data & Digital Systems: Gather and manage part information from digital engineering systems and technical drawings.
- Communication & Safety: Track activity status, communicate dimensional issues/quality concerns with team members and management, and support safety communications and audits.
Requirements & Qualifications
Must Have (Basic Qualifications):

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Software: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

Technical Skills: Mechanical proficiency, including general automotive repair and tool maintenance.

Data Analysis: Ability to analyze dimensional data and quality-related information.

Soft Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience:

Experience supporting quality confirmation activities in a manufacturing environment.

Experience with equipment, tooling, and part inspection.

Experience working with measurement tools and dimensional data.
Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications):

Education: Associate's degree or higher in a technical field preferred.

Automotive body quality experience.
