Quality / Test Automation Engineer

About the Role
The Smart Price Management team is looking for a Quality / Test Automation Engineer to expand our automated test coverage. You'll join our existing testers and bring hands-on experience with modern automation tools, especially Playwright. You'll build and maintain automated tests across the UI, API, and integration layers, build quality checks into our CI/CD pipelines, and work closely with developers to catch issues early.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for UI, API, and integration testing
• Grow automation coverage and help move manual test cases into automated frameworks
• Develop test frameworks and scripts using Playwright, Jest, and Java and/or TypeScript
• Write and maintain BDD-style test scenarios with development and product teams
• Validate data across SQL and NoSQL databases as part of end-to-end testing
• Set up and maintain automated quality gates in CI/CD pipelines
• Work alongside existing QA team members to share automation best practices

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in test automation or quality engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright
• Experience with Jest and writing test code in Java and/or TypeScript
• Experience with BDD frameworks and practices (e.g., Cucumber, Gherkin)
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience building quality gates into CI/CD pipelines

Nice to Have

• Experience testing data-heavy pipelines or data processing systems
• Experience helping a team move from manual testing to automation
