Job Description
THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN
Functions and Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret basic drawings, weld procedure specifications (WPS), and welding symbols
- Able to identify weld discontinuities
- Basic understanding of weld acceptance criteria
- Basic weld inspection tool usage: fillet gauge, V-WAC gauge, combination square, protractor, caliper, tape measure, flashlight, mirror, magnifying glass, temperature crayon
- Ability to answer welding-related questions or know where to direct questions
- Fully inspect weldments and sub-weldments
- Document results of inspections, including VT reports and weld maps
- Comprehend the introduction to First Article Inspection (FAIs)
- Communicate welding nonconformances to Welding Supervisor, Welding Trainer, Welder Development Coordinator, Lead Weld Inspector
- Maintain material certifications and inspection documentation
- Label nonconforming parts
- Use calibrated measuring equipment where applicable
- Follow all safety procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment is required
- Good verbal and written communication skills is required
