Quarry Manager - Surface Aggregate Mining

SUMMARY:

The Quarry Manager oversees production and shipping for a 2M TPY Construction Aggregate site in the Midwest US. Key priorities include safety, product quality, pit development, production planning, budgeting, forecasting, and site maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Direct aggregate operations, including quarry development, drilling/blasting, plant processing, and mobile equipment maintenance.

• Set operating targets, monitor site performance, and communicate strategic goals.

• Manage, coach, train, and evaluate site personnel to build high-performing teams.

• Enforce safety protocols, conduct toolbox talks/start-up meetings, and ensure full compliance with MSHA, DEP, and state/federal regulations.

• Manage facility budgets, lower operating costs, and drive efficiency improvements.

• Maintain strong customer, supplier, and community relationships.

• Maintain clean, orderly, and safe site conditions across offices, crushers, yards, and storage facilities.

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of operations management experience in aggregate processing/mining with a record of advancement.

• BS degree in Mining or Civil Engineering preferred; union environment experience preferred.

• Strong knowledge of aggregate processing equipment, environmental regulations, and MSHA standards.

• Experience with marine/barge loading operations desired.

• Willingness to travel, work nights, and cover weekends when required.

• PPE Required: Hard hat, eye/hearing protection, gloves, high-visibility clothing, safety shoes, and respirator.
