FCS is actively seeking a highly skilled R&D Applications Engineer for their top client in the Quakertown, PA area. JOB OVERVIEW
The R&D Applications Engineer will be the Technical Liaison for customers in developing custom solutions for their Packaging Equipment & Material needs. Qualified candidates should have experience in R&D, Product Design & Development, Quality, and Project Management within Flexible Packaging, Plastic Injection / Blow Molding, Resin, Films, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- B.S./M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Polymer Science.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of related experience with a strong technical background in packaging OR plastics (i.e., flexible packaging, extrusion, thermoforming, laminating, film, and/or tooling).
- Background working directly with customers in understanding customer needs and creating product recommendations.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment with proven results leading capital projects working with OEMs and suppliers.
- Project Management - Multitasking, prioritization, time and budget management, planning and executing.
- Ability to collaborate with key functions (R&D, Quality, Sales, Field Service, Analytical and Operations) to assist in troubleshooting for technical or quality related issues as they may arise at customers.
- Ability to build Subject Matter Expertise for key focus areas and acting as a consultant within the business for these areas.
- Must be okay with traveling to suppliers, customers, conferences, and other innovation partners.
