*The role will be remote with potential to relocate on-site once the research and development center has been opened (expected in 2027).

    Key Responsibilities

    New Product Design & Development

    • Design and develop new products, assemblies and components from concept through commercialization
    • Perform engineering analysis including mechanical, thermal, electrical and manufacturability assessments as applicable
    • Support prototype development, testing and validation analysis activities
    • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize product design for cost, quality, reliability and production efficiency
    • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements and customer specifications
    • Maintain project schedules and communicate technical progress to stakeholders and leadership
    • Interface with customers and suppliers regarding the technical requirements, design reviews, and project execution

    Test and Modelling

    • Support with build out of test facilities at new R&D center
    • Collaborate with academia to create network for specialized testing and design studies
    • Develop standard requirement validation plans to guide product development testing plans

    Product Standards and Compliance

    • Generate and maintain engineering drawings, models, bills of materials, specifications and technical documentation
    • Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives focused on product performance, process capability and cost reduction
    • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, DFMEA/PFMEA activities and engineering change management
    • Support troubleshooting, product maintenance and corrective actions related to product or manufacturing issues

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or master's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, or related Engineering discipline
    • 3+ Years Experience in engineering or product development in manufacturing or industrial environment
    • Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, CATIA, or Siemens NX
    • Familiarity with UL, IEC, NEMA, ASTM and applicable industry standards
    • Knowledge of GD&T, stacked tolerances and design-for-manufacturing methods
    • Experience interpreting engineering blueprints and electrical diagrams
    • Experience working on larger project initiatives with high level communication skills
    • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) and stage-gate development processes
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
    • Capability to travel up to ~10% of the time

    Key Candidate Attributes

    • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
    • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, drive process improvements, and deliver results across multiple projects and stakeholders.
