R&D Laboratory Coordinator

Payrate: $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
 
Summary:
This position will initiate, coordinate, and implement new product initiatives on new and existing products. The role involves working in the lab to make prototypes in collaboration with the R&D Laboratory Technician. Responsibilities include executing batch records, maintaining supplies and raw materials in the lab, and preparing samples for customer distribution. The role requires maintaining a clean and organized lab area.
 
Responsibilities

• Organize daily activities based on business priorities provided by R&D scientists or R&D Laboratory Technician.
• Maintain accurate records of R&D materials, equipment, and samples stored in all R&D areas according to established practices and procedures.
• Maintain accurate laboratory and project work documentation.
• Maintain a clean and organized laboratory work environment, including supplies inventory and maintenance, and routine cleaning.
• Prepare samples for shipment to customers.
• Formulate and create bench top samples for presentation to inside and outside customers, while maintaining awareness of current plant process capabilities.
• Adhere to GMPs and Health and Safety rules as outlined in the employee handbook.
• Use all prescribed personal protective equipment.
• Participate in all necessary training required to successfully perform job responsibilities.
• Familiarity with barcode scanners and warehouse inventory systems is a plus.
• Able to read and follow exact instructions, including SOP and cGMP procedures.
• Able to taste prototype products and participate in taste panels as needed.

 
Qualifications

• High School diploma required. Some college experience would be a plus, especially in the science field.
• 1-2 years of relevant experience in food preparation/food industry (preferably in the confectionary industry).

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

 
Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $24.00 - $24.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
