About the Facility

The Minneapolis VA Health Care System is located at One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417. It is a leading, academically affiliated VA medical center serving Veterans across Minnesota and the upper Midwest. The Radiation Oncology Service is accredited and operates state-of-the-art technology including Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators, RayStation treatment planning, ARIA record and verify, CT simulation, and an active SRS/SBRT and IMRT/VMAT program, supported by an on-site medical physics and dosimetry team.

Responsibilities

• Provide the full scope of radiation oncology care: consultation, treatment planning, on-treatment management, and survivorship follow-up
• Deliver 2D/3D conformal, IMRT/VMAT, SRS/SRT/SBRT, and brachytherapy as credentialed and as program capability allows
• Perform CT simulation, target and organ-at-risk contouring, and plan review and approval with medical physics and dosimetry
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and coordinate care with medical oncology, surgery, pathology, and radiology
• Document in the electronic health record and meet peer review, chart rounds, and quality assurance requirements
• Support departmental quality improvement, accreditation readiness, and safety programs
• Supervise and teach residents and students in an academically affiliated environment as assigned

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in Radiation Oncology
• Board certified or board eligible in Radiation Oncology by the American Board of Radiology
• Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
• Clinical experience with IMRT/VMAT and SRS/SBRT planning and delivery
• Comfortable practicing in a multidisciplinary, team-based academic setting

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, day shift, on site at the Minneapolis medical center. Coverage and call are assigned per the department’s published coverage schedule.
