Role Summary:
Seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Radiographer to join their radiology team in a fast-paced, trauma-level facility. In this role, you will perform a wide range of diagnostic radiologic procedures, using your technical expertise and clinical judgment to support accurate diagnosis and exceptional patient care. Working closely with radiologists and a multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in patient assessment, imaging, and safety across various departments, including the Emergency Room (ER) and Operating Room (OR).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Explain imaging procedures clearly and compassionately to patients and prepare them for exams.

  • Review clinical data on requisitions and perform accurate radiographic examinations; gather additional patient history when necessary.

  • Prepare imaging rooms and maintain supply inventory, ensuring all equipment and areas remain clean, stocked, and ready for use.

  • Analyze anatomical structures, position patients, and operate equipment to acquire optimal diagnostic images.

  • Administer intravenous contrast when required and monitor patients for reactions, providing immediate care if necessary.

  • Uphold radiation safety standards and implement ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles during all procedures.

  • Use and maintain sterile techniques and infection control practices when preparing supplies and assisting in procedures.

  • Perform mobile radiography, including portable exams in ER, OR, or patient rooms.

  • Accurately document exams, protocols, and clinical information in the Radiology Information System (RIS).

  • Upload and verify high-quality images in the PACS, ensuring correct image counts and identifiers.

  • Review and follow radiologist protocols and instructions before imaging.

  • Collaborate with team members and leadership to promote excellent communication, positivity, and cultural sensitivity.

  • Support the orientation and training of new hires and radiology students as needed.

  • Demonstrate and uphold team member standards including AIDET, teamwork, motivation, and respect.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Must maintain ongoing continuing education hours as per licensure requirements.

  • Minimum of 2 years of radiography experience, including work in Level I or Level II Trauma settings and Operating Room (OR) experience.

  • Must be ARRT registered in Radiography (RT[R]), or registry-eligible with certification required within 6 months of hire.

  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.

  • Experience with portable imaging, and working with pediatric and geriatric patients.

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of trauma protocols and emergent radiologic procedures.

  • Familiarity with GE, Carestream, OEC C-Arms.

  • Experience with Cerner EMR is a plus (not required).

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment with shifting priorities.

Location and Work Type:

  • On-site position based in Michigan.

  • This is a 13-week contract with the potential for extension.
