Radiologic Technologist Detroit, MI Location: Detroit, MI Available Shifts Position 1: 1:00 PM 11:30 PM Every other weekend rotation Position 2: 11:00 AM 7:30 PM MondayFriday only Assignment Details Start Date: 06/01/2026 End Date: 09/19/2026 Hours per Week: 40 Hours per Day: 8 Days per Week: 5 General Summary Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs radiologic procedures for the evaluation of pathological conditions as ordered by a physician. Responsible for following department protocols and utilizing independent judgment in determining appropriate radiographic techniques, positioning, and safety practices. Key Responsibilities Explain examination procedures and prepare patients for imaging studies Review clinical data and obtain additional patient history when necessary Prepare procedure rooms and maintain adequate supplies Perform radiologic procedures and operate imaging equipment safely and accurately Utilize proper positioning and immobilization techniques as needed Administer IV contrast media when appropriate and monitor for adverse reactions Follow radiation safety and ALARA principles Maintain sterile technique and infection control standards Ensure patient safety, privacy, comfort, and confidentiality Complete all required documentation, logs, and patient records Assist with training and education of new hires and students when needed Resolve PACS image exceptions and ensure image quality and delivery Complete RIS study indexing and documentation Confirm clinical protocols with Radiologists prior to studies Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, communication, and customer service excellence Requirements Experience Candidates must have: Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience Prior OR experience Client, neuro, and vascular experience preferred Education High School Diploma or GED required Must maintain required continuing education hours Certifications & Licensure ARRT registered or registry eligible If registry eligible, certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire BCLS certification required BLS required Skills & Working Conditions Work may be performed in hospital departments including IPD, OR, ER, and mobile imaging units Potential exposure to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and contagious patients May occasionally lift or move equipment and/or patients exceeding 10 lbs Must demonstrate: Strong customer service skills Teamwork and flexibility Initiative and willingness to learn Respect for diversity Effective communication and professionalism
