Radiologic Technologist - RWJBarnabas Health
Radiologic Technologists play a vital role in patient care by performing diagnostic imaging procedures that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. They operate radiographic equipment, ensure high-quality diagnostic images, maintain patient safety, and provide compassionate care throughout the imaging process.
A Typical Day for a Radiologic Technologist May Include:
- Performing diagnostic radiographic examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Positioning patients and operating imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Explaining procedures and addressing patient concerns to ensure a positive patient experience.
- Adhering to radiation safety standards and quality control procedures.
- Monitoring equipment performance and reporting any operational concerns.
- Documenting imaging procedures accurately within the electronic medical record.
- Collaborating with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
- Reporting identified safety concerns, including hazardous conditions, unsecured areas, equipment issues, and potential medical errors.

Required Qualifications
- New Jersey State Radiologic Technologist License required.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology required.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
