CT Technologist - PM Shift
Schedule
PM Monday - Friday, 3pm - 11pm with call included
Job Description
The CT technologist will demonstrate professionalism and service excellence while performing various tasks within the imaging department. The role requires adherenceto established protocols and a commitment to patient privacy and dignity.
Responsibilities
Obtain necessary medical, surgical, and radiological supplies for specific procedures.
Maintain sterility of the field and instruments.
Prepare requisitions accurately.
Communicate with the patient and family before, during, and after procedures to alleviate anxiety.
Adhere to HIPAA regulations ensuring patient privacy.
Verify patient identification according to protocols.
Observe patient condition and report any sudden changes to the nursing staff and Radiologist.
Ensure the availability of medical records, previous reports, labs, and patient history.
Initiate emergency response if complications arise.
Maintain adequate linen, contrast media, and biopsy/drainage supplies in scanning rooms.
Assist in maintaining the CT storeroom and participate in daily inventory and stocking of supplies.
Clean and inventory supplies and equipment regularly.
Participate in routine cleaning of the CT gantry, table, and other peripheral equipment after each use.
Triage procedures and coordinate emergency and unscheduled requests efficiently.
Communicate with all departments regarding patient status and ensure timely patient transport post-procedure.
Assess patient ability to tolerate contrast and screen for allergies/medication incompatibilities.
Follow proper protocols during cases that require immediate results, such as Code Grey and Trauma.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
High School Diploma or GED.
Completion of a Radiographer Technical training program from an accredited School of Radiography or College-based Radiography program.
ARRT RT (R) certification.
ARRT RT (CT) certification.
New Jersey State X-Ray License.
BLS Certification.
