Reading Interventionist/Gifted & Talented Teacher

The School District of Wausaukee is seeking to employ a Reading Interventionist / Gifted & Talented Teacher who will deliver specialized instruction to both support struggling readers and challenge high-achieving students. The successful candidate will identify the learning and developmental needs of students, work directly to maintain an engaging and high-rigor learning environment, and stay up to date on best practices in literacy and gifted education. The candidate must be able to interact in a constructive manner with students, staff, and the public.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Develop and administer targeted literacy intervention and gifted enrichment procedures in accordance with district policies and state standards.

• Receive referrals and confer with students, parents, teachers, and instructional coaches regarding student academic progress and talent development.

• Respond to and resolve parent, student, and staff concerns regarding academic support and acceleration.

• Manage student assessment data, including tracking progress monitoring metrics and identifying candidates for intervention or advanced programming.

• Assist staff with the creation and alignment of classroom differentiated instruction, tier-based interventions, and extension activities.

• Serve as a resource to staff regarding literacy instruction, Response to Intervention (RTI/MTSS), and gifted student strategies.

• Manage the documentation of student academic growth, intervention plans, and advanced learning plans through Infinite Campus.

• Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of intervention and enrichment programs that address the diverse academic needs of students.

• Perform a variety of instructional support duties to assist the principal and curriculum coordinators in advancing student achievement.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Valid Wisconsin Teaching License (Reading Teacher/Interventionist and/or Gifted & Talented endorsement preferred).

• 3-5 years of experience is preferred, not required.

• Able to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with families, particularly as related to student academic needs, growth plans, and acceleration.

• Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills.

• Strong instructional leadership, data literacy, and computer literacy skills.
