Job Description

The Receptionist will work onsite in Washington, DC, serving as the welcoming face and voice of the organization. As the first point of contact for clients, visitors, and employees, the Receptionist plays a critical role in creating a positive and professional first impression. This position is responsible for managing front desk operations, answering and directing incoming calls, greeting guests, and providing administrative support to ensure the office runs efficiently while delivering exceptional customer service.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Greet clients, visitors, and employees in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner

  • Answer and direct incoming telephone calls promptly and accurately

  • Manage the reception area to ensure it remains clean, organized, and presentable

  • Coordinate visitor check-in procedures and notify hosts of guest arrivals

  • Assist with scheduling conference rooms and preparing meeting spaces as needed

  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and deliveries

  • Provide general administrative support, including data entry, filing, scanning, copying, and printing documents

  • Maintain office supplies for the reception area and place orders as needed

  • Respond to general inquiries and provide accurate information to visitors and employees

  • Perform other administrative and customer service duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Minimum of 2 years of receptionist, administrative, or customer service experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Professional appearance and demeanor with outstanding customer service skills

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

  • Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform routine office tasks for extended periods

  • Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds as needed

The compensation for this position is $21.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be based on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Required Work Schedule

Monday – Friday
8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
