We are currently seeking a Recovery Coach to join our Peer Support Services team within Emergency Services and help empower adults on their unique paths to recovery.

What You Will Do:
Provide Recovery Coaching services for a minimum of twenty adults eligible for coaching services
Support adults in creating personalized wellness plans, teaching SMART goal setting and how to break down big goals into smaller steps
Use motivational interviewing skills to help elicit goals, action steps, self-empowerment, and motivation for change
Help adults explore and find their own unique recovery pathways
Provide encouragement to maintain or increase commitment to healthy, recovery behaviors through active problem solving, hope installation, modeling recovery behaviors, and developing personalized relapse prevention plans
Provide weekly coaching sessions (no less than 15 minutes, more often as needed, especially in early recovery) and meet with adults in person at least once per month
Support and teach individuals about building Recovery Capital, including access to healthcare, food, shelter, clothing, and benefits/income
Provide linkages and warm hand-offs to needed recovery and other services and resources
Work with individuals to identify and overcome barriers to full engagement in recovery
Complete all Recovery Coach documentation in accordance with program and agency standards, including wellness plans, contact notes, EIM-ESM enrollment/disenrollment forms, and insurance re-authorization questionnaires
Conduct one Recovery Coaching information session in the community per month
Attend required in-service trainings, staff meetings, and weekly supervision
Who You Are:
Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required
Lived experience of addiction and recovery, with a minimum of 2 years of sustained sobriety
Passion for helping others find their own unique pathway to recovery
Familiarity with a wide range of recovery support services, including peer-based recovery supports
Completion of Recovery Coach Academy and Ethical Considerations trainings by BSAS-approved providers required either before hire or within 4 weeks of hire
Certification by the Massachusetts Board of Substance Use Counselor Certifications required within 1-2 years of hire
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Valid driver's license, good driving record, and reliable vehicle required for all working hours
