Description
The purpose of this position is to assist customers with registration, information, and respond to questions about the facility and programs offered. Assist Parks and Recreation staff with athletic events and recreation activities. This class works under close supervision according to set procedures.
Examples of Duties
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
- Ensures customers receive excellent customer service by providing friendly, prompt service, greeting and acknowledging incoming customers and providing accurate program and facility information.
- Answers incoming phone calls, registers patrons for various programs and collects corresponding fees in compliance with cashiering policies and procedures.
- Maintains clean and orderly appearance of facilities.
- Performs miscellaneous administrative tasks including filing and organizing.
- Supports other divisions of the department as needed to include assisting with special events, programs and providing coverage in the absence of staff.
- Enforces and follows facility and safety regulations.
- Communicates patron concerns and safety issues to management.
- Assisting in closing, collecting coins, escorting patrons out, and making sure our lights and equipment are off.
- Makes minor repairs to equipment.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Does not require completion of high school.
- Requires a short demonstration up to and including one month of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- CPR/First Aid Certification.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
Supplemental Information
All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment.
