RECREATION ASSISTANT - BASKETBALL SCOREKEEPER

The Orem Recreation Department is currently hiring for Recreation Assistants to work as scorekeepers for the basketball program. This is a part-time, non-benefited position working under the direction of a Recreation Manager or Program Coordinator. Responsible to keep score at youth and adult basketball games, record game points and other required game information, and help set up for games and tournaments. Recreation Assistants will also be expected to assist with minor facility preparation, exhibit and emphasize teamwork and sportsmanship, and resolve problems and conflicts on site. Requires knowledge or experience of score keeping methods for basketball and ability to work with people. Ability to resolve problems and conflicts that may be confrontational or stressful. Ability to move and interact with others in various activities that may include bending, stooping, walking, and lifting. Applicants must be in compliance with Recreation department dress, personal appearance, and tattoo policy. The successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background investigation. $10.00 to $12.00 per hour depending upon qualifications.
