Basic Requirements:
- 14 years experience as a system engineer
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
- 5 additional years of experience as a system engineer may be substituted for a degree
Job Description:
- Daily troubleshooting of Linux, Windows, Red Hat 6, 7, 8, and 9 Operating Systems
- Providing Ubuntu support
- Oversee cross-platform virtual machine lifecycles across Linux hypervisor environments (possibly Windows), optimizing resource allocation and compute capacity.
- Maintain and manage various versions of OpenStack across multi-region deployments
- Troubleshoot issues across Agency GOTS OpenStack platforms
- Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible and Puppet
- May include developing end-to-end Python and Bash scripts to automate daily operational tasks, reduce manual toil, and streamline system provisioning workflows
- Manage YUM repos (GOTS repository management)
- Utilize Naemon and Grafana diagnostic tooling to execute systemic performance analysis and proactively address health degraded states.
Required Experience:
- OpenStack experience
- Linux experience to include: Red Hat 6, 7, 8, and 9
- Experience with Grafana and Naemon
- Virtual Machine – Hypervisor
- Ansible and Puppet
Preferred Qualifications:
- MachineShop experience
- Hypervisor virtual machine experience
- Python development language
- Understanding of Return-to-Service (RTS) protocols
- Familiarity with Pagent and Putty
- Python development language
- Bash scripting
