Refrigeration Technician – Local Mechanical Contractor

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and modify refrigeration systems, related equipment, and facilities
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment
• Support the preventive maintenance program using work orders from supervision and accurately document work performed
• Make safe adjustments to equipment as needed during production
• Perform start-up and shutdown procedures in production plants
• Properly use lockout/tag-out procedures to safely isolate equipment before working on it
• Troubleshoot electrical components using a meter when equipment is down
• Plan and schedule replacement of parts to minimize production disruption while maintaining safety
• Work with air compressors and associated control systems
• Communicate clearly with supervision and operations to ensure timely repairs and resolution of equipment issues
• Perform other duties as assigned

Experience & Requirements:

• Refrigeration experience (ammonia refrigeration strongly preferred) and/or Residential or Commercial HVAC Service Technician experience
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced production environment
• Experience with air compressors and associated control systems
• Valid Journeyman License or Ticket
• Class B Gas Ticket (or ability to obtain, if applicable)
• High School Diploma or higher
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Strong skill set with commercial HVAC/refrigeration products, installation, and mechanical systems
• Solid understanding of HVAC/refrigeration functions, ductwork modifications, and system design
• Excellent communication skills with clients, coworkers, and project managers
• Strong leadership, work ethic, and reliability
• Strong analytical and logical skills with a high level of accuracy in detailed work
• Stable background and consistent work history
