Position:Global and ELA Regents Tutors

Location:Brooklyn, NY (In-Person)

Schedule:Tuesdays and Thursdays only

Start Date:Tuesday, November 10

Compensation:$40/hr.

We are seeking a knowledgeable, reliable, and engaging Global History & Geography Regents Tutor as well as an ELA Regents Tutor to assist high school students in preparing for the New York State Regents Examination. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of world history, familiarity with the NYS social studies standards, and proven strategies for helping students master content knowledge, stimulus-based questions, and essay writing.

Key Responsibilities

• Review core concepts and themes in alignment with the NYS curriculum framework.

• Coach students on strategies for tackling stimulus-based multiple-choice questions,

• Assess individual student needs, administer practice Regents materials, and adapt instruction to address specific learning gaps.

• Create structured, supportive, and interactive tutoring sessions that foster confidence and academic retention.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Global History, Social Studies, and/or ELA

• Prior experience tutoring or teaching high school students, specifically in NYS Regents exam preparation, is strongly preferred.

• Exceptional ability to break down complex historical events, themes, and primary source documents into clear, accessible concepts.
