What you will be doing:

 

The expectation of the Maintenance, Repair and Operations “MRO” Regional Business Development Manager is to grow ASSA ABLOY brand sales, brand awareness, and product knowledge by shaping and executing the Aftermarket sales strategy within an assigned Regions.  MRO customers include Grainger, HD Supply, Fastenal, and others who sell ASSA ABLOY products to their end users.  This role is directly responsible for creating demand with local Door Security Solutions (DSS) sales team, MRO sellers, and end user customers in the Region.

 

Key areas you will contribute to the role include:  

 

  • Extensive face-to-face interaction with influencers and decision-makers to drive growth through sales calls to end users, customer branches, and engagement with ASSA ABLOY DSS Sales members.
  • Active contribution to sales support initiatives including line reviews, competitive displacement programs, product training, trade shows, sales process improvements, customer issue resolution, marketing, and communication planning.
  • Beginning-to-end sales pipeline management, responsible for managing sales process from interest, to purchase order, to installation by providing support & leveraging ASSA ABLOY resources to assist.
  • Other key activities of the role include
    • End User joint sales calls with DSS and independent of DSS.
    • Partnership with ASSA ABLOY Brand Business Development, Marketing, and Training resources to develop and implement business development programs, marketing campaigns, training events, etc.
    • Extensive territory travel with expectation of 5 sales calls per day that include end user visits, MRO team meetings, branch visits, customers expos, and/or product trainings.
    • Support of catalogue management with MRO partners to ensure product, marketing, pricing, and support elements are updated and accurate.
  • Have proficient knowledge & presentation ability of ASSA ABLOY product and programs, in addition to possessing key competitor product and program knowledge.
  • Extensive U.S. overnight business travel required (up to 75%).

  • Ability to perform responsibilities both in a home office environment or while traveling.
  • You can lift/carry up to 50 lbs. of sample and display material for sale presentations.

 

Education and/or experience:

 

  • Your background includes a BS/BA degree (preference for specialization in related curricula such as: Business, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or similar), or have work experience commensurate with, minimum high school/GED diploma.
  • Experience in industrial sales, wholesale distribution, and/or MRO required.
  • 3 – 5 years of sales experience or more in door hardware/industrial sales preferred.
  • Strong business acumen and professional sales closing skills. 
  • Knowledge of ASSA ABLOY product solutions and competitive offerings preferred. 
  • Familiarity with key vertical markets of Education, Healthcare, Government, Fortune 500, & Multi-Family. 
  • Ability to develop and present compelling presentations and proficiency in using the MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, CoPilot). CRM experience, preferably Salesforce.

 

This position will be performed remotely/hybrid Monday through Friday from the contiguous US within commuting distance of a major airport (Chicago, IL preferred).

 

The annualized salary for this role is $100K - $120K. The final pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level, and other qualifications for the role.  Benefits and additional compensation offered for this position are
