Regional Manager – West Coast Florida
Building Materials Distributor | Florida | Full-Time
Territory: Pasco County to Collier County
Preferred Location: Sarasota or surrounding areas
Position Overview
A leading building materials distributor is seeking a hands-on Regional Manager to oversee three Southeast Florida branches. This is an opportunity to drive operational performance, develop strong branch leaders, improve efficiency, and strengthen relationships with key customers. The ideal candidate brings building-materials distribution experience and a passion for leadership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Regional Operations Performance
- Oversee the daily operations and performance of three branches, ensuring consistent standards, efficient processes, and a safe, organized work environment.
- Identify and implement improvements that increase productivity, control costs, and improve profitability.
- Monitor branch performance, address operational challenges, and report results to senior management.
Leadership Team Development
- Manage, coach, and develop three Branch Managers, establishing clear performance expectations and accountability.
- Support hiring, onboarding, employee development, and performance management.
- Help Branch Managers resolve staffing, operational, and customer-service challenges.
Inventory, Warehousing Distribution
- Oversee inventory accuracy, stock availability, purchasing coordination, and warehouse operations.
- Improve receiving, material handling, order fulfillment, and delivery coordination.
- Reduce shrinkage, excess inventory, stockouts, and unnecessary carrying costs through effective inventory controls and processes.
Financial Oversight Receivables
- Monitor branch financial performance, operating expenses, margins, and key performance indicators.
- Support effective customer-account management, credit practices, and timely receivables collection.
- Partner with Branch Managers to resolve overdue accounts and billing issues while improving financial accountability.
Customer Relationships Sales Support
- Build and maintain relationships with major customers, high-volume contractors, builders, and other key accounts.
- Partner with Branch Managers and sales personnel to resolve escalated customer concerns, improve service, and retain important accounts.
- Ensure operational issues involving product availability, order accuracy, fulfillment, and delivery are addressed promptly.
Regional Coordination
- Visit branches and key customer locations regularly throughout the territory.
- Communicate regional performance, challenges, and improvement initiatives to senior management.
- Implement company policies and procedures consistently while helping refine processes as the business grows.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of management experience and five years in building materials, lumber distribution, wholesale distribution, or a related industry.
- Proven ability to lead managers, oversee multiple locations, and improve operational performance.
- Experience with inventory management, warehousing, financial oversight, receivables, and customer-account management.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to develop employees, hold teams accountable, and manage competing priorities.
- Customer-focused mindset with experience supporting major or high-volume accounts.
- Willingness to travel regularly between branches and customer locations.
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check and drug test.
