Registered Dietician - Per Diem

General Summary Statement 

Under the direction of Clinical Nutrition Manager assures that patient care standards are met and patient satisfaction is maintained. The RD, LDN serves as a liaison between the medical staff, nursing staff, ancillary health departments and the community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Responsible for nutrition screening of patients based on established criteria for adult, NICU and pediatric populations 

• Completes nutrition consults in timely manner 

• Reassesses patient based on complexity of care level standards 

• Prioritizes workload to complete in an efficient and effective manner 

• Provides nutrition education to patients and family members by consult, protocol, or as deemed appropriate 

• Develops nutrition care plan to fit patient needs and documents nutrition assessment in electronic medical record 

• Completes nutrition assessment for patients on enteral and parenteral nutrition support

 • Determines need for oral nutrition supplement and orders and/or implements based on individual patient needs. 

• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to address patient needs


Education Training and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in nutrition and Dietetics 

Minimum of 1-year experience in an acute care setting preferred. 

Licensure/Certification Registered with the Commission on Dietetics Registration (RD) Active nutrition license (LDN) with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
