    Description

    Us Heart and Vascular is in need of a PRN Registered Nurse to join our team at Pima Heart and Vascular in Tucson, AZ.

    Responsibilities:

    • Review of patients' medical records/laboratory results/allergies/medical and surgical history; relay pertinent information to entire surgical team: surgeon, anesthesiologist, surgical tech, and MA.
    • Patient and family education to pre-, intra-and post-procedure flow - what to anticipate before, during and after procedure.
    • Circulation during procedure, assisting with equipment and supplies, and documentation of those items used.
    • Documentation of procedure in patient EMR.
    • Recovery of patients post procedure: Monitoring of patients' airway, circulation and breathing; monitoring and management of access site care - checking pulses and CMS distal to access site.
    • Monitoring and documentation of vital signs and management of pain/nausea.
    • Review of post-procedure information with patient and family, with focus on normal post-procedure results/side effects and complications and when to seek medical attention.
    • Management of Clinical Trials/Clinical Trial Coordination.
    • Scheduling follow-up appointments for clinical trials.
    • Triage of patient phone calls. Addressing of questions/concerns.
    • Follow up calls to patients post procedure - address questions/concerns and relay all pertinent information to physicians.
    • Management of Case Costs and disbursement of information to appropriate persons.
    • Documentation of Staff In-services
    • Coordination and management of quarterly Disaster/Fire and Emergency drills
    • Management of Patient Sedation before, during and after procedures
    • Proper documentation of and inventory of Narcotics and Sedation medication with assistance from Anesthesia group/MD
    • Induction of MAC anesthesia and monitoring of pts intra-op

    Requirements:

    • BLS and ACLS certification
    • Currently licensed to practice nursing in the State of Arizona
    • Cath lab/Vascular/EP Device Experience preferred but not required
    • Minimum of 3 years nursing experience is required
    • Leadership Experience such as charge Nurse is preferred but not required
    • 1 year of outpatient/ambulatory surgery center experience is preferred but not required
