Core Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments for new admissions and monitor ongoing resident health status regularly
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, therapists, and family members
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established clinical protocols
Oversee and provide guidance to Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants during assigned shifts
Communicate effectively with residents, family members, and interdisciplinary team members regarding changes in health conditions
Document all clinical findings, interventions, and outcomes accurately within the electronic health record system
Respond promptly to medical emergencies and coordinate appropriate care and transfer procedures when necessary
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff education programs, and regulatory compliance activities
Maintain current knowledge of geriatric nursing best practices and applicable state and federal regulations
Build trusting, supportive relationships with residents that honor their dignity, autonomy, and individual preferences
Must-Have Requirements
Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse license issued by the State of Maryland
Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or senior living environment
Strong working knowledge of geriatric conditions including dementia, diabetes, cardiac disease, and rehabilitation needs
Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor paraprofessional staff in a team-oriented environment
Excellent clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills under pressure
Proficiency with electronic health record platforms and standard clinical documentation practices
Outstanding communication skills with residents, families, physicians, and multidisciplinary team members
Current Basic Life Support certification from an accredited provider
Ability to work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as operationally required
