Shift: 8hr Day Shift (40)

Shift Information: Monday – Friday, Earliest they would start would be 0800 and latest they would be there is 1700, depends on schedule for the day.

Floating Requirements: Will float to Good Hope Clinic, East Mequon Clinic, Port Washington Clinic- Will know in advance which facility they would be scheduled for

About Facility:

• Connected to the hospital. Clinic building with several clinics inside

Unit Information:

• Beds: 13 rooms (each provider gets 2 rooms and APP gets 2 rooms)
  • Census: Average patients/day: around 50 patients per day through clinics

Minimum Years of Experience required: 1 year of clinic experience
Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

• Adults only
• Pre/post surgeries: gallbladder, appendectomies, colorectal, colon, G-tube, hernia repairs, bariatric (gastric sleeves and bypasses)
• In office procedures: I/D for abscess, colorectal scopes (MAs will assist)
• Will be assigned to specific providers and follow them

Required License, National Certification, Certs:

• BLS

Skills required:

• Mostly in-basket management: phone triaging, med refills, answering portal questions, FMLA and prior auth paperwork, could assist with rooming patients (vitals, med rec, medical history, etc.), pre/post-surgery education
• Ambulatory EPIC experience required

Support within the Department:

• MAs
• Other RNs
• Work with multiple different general surgery providers (will rotate through clinics)
• APPs
• Manager/Supervisor sometimes on sight but available via phone
• Patient Service Reps to check patients in
• Surgery scheduler to schedule patient s surgeries

Technology/Equipment:

• EMR: Ambulatory EPIC - required

Floating: 

• Will floatto Good Hope Clinic, East Mequon Clinic, Port Washington Clinic
• Will know in advance which facility they would be scheduled at
• Farthest they would float is about 20 minutes away

Orientation (facility and unit) :

• NEO
• Up to 5 days of department orientation

Scheduling:

• Weekend rotation: None
• On call: None
• Holiday Expectations: None
• Approval of RTO: to go through manager
• Shift times: Earliest they would start would be 0800 and latest they would be there is 1700, depends on schedule for the day.
• Schedule cycle: Monday – Friday
