As Nurse Educator/Infection Control, this position is responsible for organizing, evaluating, and training employees and directors to improve practice competency and patient outcome. At the same time, this position will be responsible for developing and maintaining a quality infection prevention and control program within the healthcare setting.
*Pay Range: $53/hr. to $60hr.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday

Responsibilities:
Assist with performing staff learning needs assessment yearly and as needed
Plan, revises and performs nursing orientation in collaboration with Director of Nursing
Acts as mentor, educational resource, and leader for hospital staff to promote excellent patient care
Maintain current competencies as well as updated knowledge in specific area of practice
Develop, deliver, and coordinate comprehensive training program
Evaluate training materials; offer specific training programs to help staff maintain or improve skills and competencies
Monitors, evaluate and records training activities and program effectiveness
Assures quality of course development and delivery through assignment of qualified instructors, monitoring and reviewing lesson plans, and class presentations
Presents information, using a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as role-playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos and lectures
Participates in ongoing infection control educational programs for employees, including TB, HIV/Hep/Universal Precautions. May educate patients as necessary
Deliver infection prevention and control thorough the hospital based on principles that are research based and enhance the quality of patient care
Participate in the review, development and implementation of infection prevention and control related policies, procedures and guidelines
Possesses knowledge of current trends in psychiatric patient care, public health risk factors, control and reporting of disease, epidemiology trends, Patient Rights, and A.O.A. requirements regarding infection control and psychiatric patients
Provides physicians and staff with updates of infection control policy changes
Carries out personnel management activities associated with direct staff supervision, including screening and selection, orientation training and development, performance management, and employee relations functions
Performs related duties as requested
Upholds the Organization's ethics and customer service standards
Requirements
Current California Registered Nurse License
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
BLS (Basic Life Support ) Certification for Healthcare Providers - American Heart Association
5 years minimum work experience as a Registered Nurse Educator
