Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Department

Location: Wayne Memorial Hospital Honesdale, Pennsylvania
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks (with potential extension)
Shift: 12-hour shifts | Days, Nights, or Rotating
Hours: 36 hours/week (3x12s) with opportunities for overtime

Position Summary

*** is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse for a travel assignment at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. This position is ideal for an RN who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about providing exceptional emergency care to patients across all acuity levels.

Wayne Memorial Hospital is a community-based acute care hospital serving northeastern Pennsylvania. The Emergency Department features 18 treatment rooms, including private rooms, a dedicated trauma room, Fast Track for lower-acuity patients, and negative-pressure rooms for isolation. The department provides 24/7 emergency care with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and ancillary staff.

Responsibilities
Perform rapid assessment and triage of emergency patients.
Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for medical, surgical, cardiac, neurologic, respiratory, orthopedic, and trauma emergencies.
Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and emergency interventions according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
Monitor patient conditions and respond quickly to changes in clinical status.
Assist with emergency procedures including:
Cardiac emergencies
Stroke response
Sepsis management
Trauma stabilization
Respiratory emergencies
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, radiology, laboratory, and ancillary staff.
Document all patient care accurately in the electronic medical record.
Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and discharge instructions.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and patient safety initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Active Pennsylvania RN License (or Compact License if applicable)
Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience
Current BLS (AHA)
Current ACLS (AHA)
Current PALS (AHA)
NIH Stroke Scale Certification
TNCC preferred
CPI or de-escalation training preferred
Preferred Experience
Experience working in a community hospital ED
Strong IV and critical assessment skills
Experience caring for pediatric and adult emergency patients
Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required
