Outpatient Gastroenterology

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join an established outpatient Gastroenterology practice in the Ballantyne / South Charlotte area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an RN who enjoys direct patient care, nurse triage, patient education, IV therapy, and care coordination — with a consistent Monday–Friday daytime schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assess patients, obtain medical histories and vital signs, and document findings in the EHR
• Provide direct nursing care and provider-ordered treatments
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses
• Start IVs and administer IV fluids
• Provide patient and family education regarding medications, treatments, and acute/chronic conditions
• Complete medication refills, prior authorizations, forms, and electronic orders
• Triage patient calls and determine the appropriate level of care
• Direct patients to a provider, urgent care, or the emergency department when clinically appropriate
• Respond to urgent patient and walk-in concerns
• Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Support Medical Assistants and collaborate closely with providers and clinical staff
• Maintain efficient patient flow and accurate clinical documentation

QUALIFICATIONS

• Active North Carolina RN license REQUIRED
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of professional RN experience
• IV insertion experience REQUIRED
• Strong clinical assessment and nursing triage skills
• Outpatient, ambulatory care, or Gastroenterology experience preferred
• Experience working with an EHR system
• Excellent communication, organizational, and patient-service skills

SALARY: $70,000–$90,000 ANNUALLY, DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE
