Registered Nurse (RN) Night Shift (Juvenile Corrections)
Location: Goshen Secure Center Goshen, NY
Shift: Overnight (9:00 PM 7:00 AM), Sunday Wednesday
Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours/week) | 4-Day Work WeekPass Days: Thursday, Friday, & Saturday
Facility Overview
Make a meaningful impact at the Goshen Secure Center (GSC), a premier American Correctional Association-accredited facility in Orange County. GSC provides a secure, rehabilitative environment for male juvenile offenders (up to age 21). We are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our night-shift medical team, ensuring the highest standard of comprehensive care in a structured, supportive setting.
Position Summary
As a night-shift RN, you will provide critical nursing interventions and medication administration using a systematic, problem-solving approach. You will ensure all medical services are compliant with NYS regulatory standards while working as a key member of the facilitys interdisciplinary medical treatment team.
Key Responsibilities
Night-Shift Medical Care: Provide comprehensive nursing interventions and monitor the overall health of the youth population during overnight hours.
Medication Administration: Securely manage and administer medications, including the maintenance of controlled substance inventories and general medical supplies.
Clinical Planning: Prepare, review, and evaluate nursing intervention plans to ensure they align with each youth's comprehensive treatment goals.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate clinical records and prepare required administrative reports to ensure seamless communication with the day-side medical team.
Infection Control: Diligently maintain infection control standards to ensure a safe and healthy environment for youth and staff.
Collaborative Support: Participate in staff trainings and function as an essential member of the medical treatment team.
Qualifications
Licensure: Active License and Registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in New York State is required.
Clinical Judgment: Ability to follow systematic problem-solving approaches for complex nursing care.
Correctional Aptitude: Comfort and professionalism in working within a secure juvenile facility.
Reliability: Ability to consistently work a 10-hour overnight shift (9pm7am).
