REGISTERED NURSE - INTENSIVE CARE STEP-DOWN UNIT

Position: Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Step-Down Unit

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Intensive Care Step-Down Unit at a hospital in Sanford, FL. As a Registered Nurse in the ICU Step-Down Unit, you will be responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients who are transitioning from the intensive care unit to a lower level of care. You will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to monitor and assess patients' conditions, administer medications, and provide support and education to patients and their families.

Responsibilities:

- Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, lab results, and overall condition

- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician

- Communicate with physicians and other healthcare team members to provide updates on patients' conditions

- Educate patients and their families about their care plan and any necessary lifestyle changes

- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans

- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families

- Document all patient care and interactions accurately and thoroughly

- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations

- Maintain a safe and clean work environment

Qualifications:

- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Florida

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an intensive care or step-down unit

- BLS and ACLS certifications

- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work well in a fast-paced and high-stress environment

- Flexibility to work day, night, and weekend shifts as needed

- Ability to lift and move patients and equipment as necessary
